Living the Dream

Everyday Travis (my brother) is here working, I feed him lunch. Now Travis is someone that REALLY appreciates his food and I love to cook for him since he is so grateful! Today as I was getting his lunch around he told me that he wrote a song for me. I get so excited when he tells me that, because they are always hilarious!! (this is not the first time he's done this:) And today's song was no different! After lunch he brought a piece of paper in the house with the lyrics to his song on it and told me that it's sung to the tune of "If I Could Make a Living out of Loving You"

Pictures

Ok...as I promised, here are a few pictures from my ultrasound. The top one is just a normal profile picture and the bottom one is the 4D image. I know some people don't really like the 4D ones, so I thought I better warn you before you look:) Basically it's just a picture of his face with his thumb going for his mouth. It was really amazing, we could see him opening and closing his mouth and pulling his thumb in and out!! The tech had a really hard time getting a good picture of his face because he kept putting his hands in front of it, but all in all she did a great job and everything looks good and healthy! My due date hasn't changed at all and we're still looking at Jun 9th.

Well......

IT'S A BOY!!!!!

Yep, the ultrasound tech took one look and said without a doubt it's going to be a boy! We'll be seeing lots of blue in the Gerber house in a few months!! We're leaving for the weekend, so I'll post the ultrasound pics when we get home! Have a great weekend and thanks for the votes!! (it looks like 14 of you were right:)

Sledding

This morning I got Madison all bundled up and headed outside to brave the snow. You may think we're crazy...but we actually got the 4-wheeler out and drove it over to the farm to watch daddy work with the piggies. (I think this was her favorite part. I guess I should have done it a few more times last summer since all the hogs will be gone soon...woohoo!!!!)

When we got home I pulled her around the yard with a little sled borrowed from Tom & Brenda. Anytime we would stop she would say "again, again"

I think I'm going to need to label this picture in the photo album considering the fact that you can't see who's actually behind all the clothes

She loved the snowpants...hand-me downs from Tom & Brenda's girls. Actually when I was putting her down for her nap, she asked to wear "Holly's pants" to bed:)
On a side note, I put a poll up on the side of my blog to guess the gender of number two coming along. We are having an ultrasound done on Friday afternoon to find out. Give it your best guess, and if you feel like it, give me a few name suggestions in your comments:)

Ice Storms and Big Girl Beds

I'm a little bit embarrassed to post this considering the fact that it's been almost a month ago that it happened, but for my memories...I will. The night the ice storm hit we were asleep and all of a sudden I heard this huge crash and I thought for sure that a tree had gone through the house somewhere. I got up and looked around and thankfully nothing happened to the house. When it was light enough to see what was going on... we discovered a HUGE branch had fallen and taken down a power line that was anchored to the house. We didn't lose power (except when the guy was fixing it) but we sure had a BIG mess. Blare and Travis cleaned up the big stuff, but they decided to wait on all the small things for a warmer day. I think it was a few days after Christmas we had a 60 degree day, so I bundled Madison up and she went outside with her little rake and helped Blare clean up. She had a blast playing in the mud and with her rake.

Also before Christmas...we moved Madison to her "big girl bed." I had noticed that she when she would wake up in the morning she would still be covered up and in the same position as when she fell asleep, so I thought why not give the toddler bed a try? When we told her that she got to sleep in her "big girl bed" she got sooooo excited. We moved all her stuffed animals and blankets and babies, and anything else she thought she needed into the bed and she eagerly climbed in. We haven't had a single problem with her sleeping in it. I was a little concerned about her climbing out, but she likes it, and hasn't so far (except for the time that we checked on her and she was sound asleep in the middle of her bedroom floor. But by the time I heard her talking and ready to get up, she was already back in bed...we may have a sleep walker on our hands!?!)

Snow Skiing

I know it's been forever since I've updated this thing, but beware...the next few days will be in overload (hopefully). I'm going to start with the most recent exciting event...Snow Skiing. Last Friday we went with my family and Tom & Brenda's family up to Bittersweet to go skiing. I was a little hesitant to go, but I called my doctor and she said that it would be fine. When I was 7.5 months pregnant with Madison we went skiing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming ...so we decided this time that it's just going to have to be a tradition to go skiing while I'm pregnant:)

Thank you so much Todd & Teresa and Rex for keeping Madison for us! It was so nice to not have to worry about her, although we saw one little girl on the slopes that couldn't be much older than her. We tried the whole ice skating thing with her on New Year's Day and that was a complete failure...but she loved it and kept asking to go "skating". So I think we'll have to wait a few years for her athletic side to kick in:)
